Actual Entry

Hi everyone! I am SUPER pumped about several things! The first being (if you don't get my alerts or click off of the status updates) I got accepted into a local art festival!

I am very excited! The down side being, *most* people don't consider anime to be art- or at least, I can't really count on a lot of people buying it because the festival is not specifically geared toward anime like the cons I've gone to

So my plan is to have artwork of famous tv shows, movies, video games and maybe books

not as many people reading but I'm thinking of the crowd... there will be children, adults and older people ;3 I want to draw what I want but I want to also have what sells too

Let me know if there is anything you think will sell really well... I've tried listing 5 in each, I think this is actually plenty of merchandise but I need to know *what* you as a customer would buy

Should I do special merchandize like calendars? Coffee mugs? T-shirts? Or should I stick to my keychains and bookmarks and 8 x 10 prints (or larger?) anything poster size I'd need to be careful because people might not buy it if they have to frame it.... please leave me some suggestions! It would be super helpful!

Also, please let me know if I should have most of this stuff as more realistic like for the tv and movies or if you think people would go for a cartoony version of their favorite characters :3 I might also include some animal art like dogs, cats, etc. I will probably also be doing on the spot commissions and gear that more towards my cartoon and anime stuff

On a small update- I don't have a job yet but I'll be keeping busy trying to work on this stuff AND I talked to someone at a creative temp agency and they might be able to find me a job in a more creative environment so I'll be making more graphic design samples of fake movie posters, books and logos for sample work... and my mom sent me this website that takes greeting cards and calendars... I'm feeling pretty good! I'll just be very busy! I'll do my best to get back to everyone!

- Where I'm putting photos of me and my friends for drawing poses. Like, have you ever had trouble drawing something in a picture? I do, so I'm taking pics of myself and others for poses so people can use them to draw ^.~

I found these by Applescruffgirl (uploaded them to my photobucket so they would work via journal) and they just happen to be from 1 of my favorite scenes in the Potter sequel... so, this just had to become a part of my journal
